Congratulations to former UW Collaborative Center for Health Equity (CCHE) Director & HELI Faculty Dr. Alexandra Adams and the Center for American Indian and Rural Health Equity (CAIRHE) at Montana State University!
The National Institutes of Health has awarded a five-year, $10.7 million grant to the CAIRHE at Montana State University to continue its mission to reduce health disparities in Native and rural communities through community-based participatory research. The Center was founded in 2014 and concluded its first five-year Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence grant from the NIH earlier this year. Following a competitive renewal process, CAIRHE received its latest five-year grant effective Sept. 1.
Dr. Adams is the director and principal investigator for the CAIRHE and her collaborative team includes two HELI 2015 alumni Nicole Carnegie, PhD, and Vernon Grant, PhD.
