Congratulations to HELI 2016 Alumna Dr. Lesliam Quirós-Alcalá!
Lesliam Quirós-Alcalá, PhD, recently joined the faculty in the Department of Environmental Health and Engineering at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health as a tenure-track Assistant Professor. She will retain her University of Maryland School of Public Health affiliation as Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Maryland Institute of Applied Environmental Health.
Dr. Quirós-Alcalá will continue working on her National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) K01 award with colleagues at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and School of Public Health, as well as faculty at the University of Maryland. She will also continue her work to examine environmental exposures and their potential health effects among vulnerable populations understudied and underrepresented in environmental health research, including children, women who are pregnant or of reproductive age, workers, and low-income populations.
