Dr. Alvin Thomas Named an IRP Scholar-in-Residence

Continuing congratulations are in order for HELI 2016 alum Dr. Alvin Thomas!

In addition to his new, tenure-track appointment in the School of Human Ecology at University of Wisconsin-Madison in Fall 2019, Dr. Thomas has been named a Scholar in Residence at the Center on Poverty and Social Policy at Columbia University.

The Scholar in Residence Program is an initiative of the US Collaborative of Poverty Centers (CPC), which is a formal network of University-based poverty centers coordinated by the Institute for Research on Poverty (IRP) based at UW-Madison. The Program aims to support research by US-based poverty scholars from underrepresented racial and ethnic populations, and to enhance resources and networks available to these scholars.

Dr. Thomas is one of four current Scholars in Residence and one of two Visiting Scholars at the Center of Poverty & Social Policy at Columbia University.

Congratulations, Dr. Thomas!
