Congratulations to HELI 2018 Alumna Dr. Sarah Forrester!
Sarah Forrester, PhD, will be joining the faculty at University of Massachusetts Medical School in the Department of Population and Quantitative Health Sciences, Division of Epidemiology as an Assistant Professor starting August 1, 2019.
Additionally, Dr. Forrester was recently awarded a Mentored Career Development Award (KL2) from the UMASS Center for Clinical and Translational Science entitled “Biological Age: a novel measure to guide health disparity interventions.” She will be focusing on health disparities/health equity and continuing to build the health disparities/health equity profile and program of research in the department.
Just last month Dr. Forrester shared her expertise on weathering as a panelist at the the 2019 WNYC Health Convening for New York Public Radio entitled “Weathering: How racial discrimination affects health.” It was hosted by Kai Wright, managing editor of WNYC’s podcast The Stakes. Dr. Forrester was a panelist along with Marcella Alsan of Stanford, Arline Geronimus of University of Michigan, Carol Horowitz of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and Linda Villarosa, of City College of New York.
