We are delighted to congratulate HELI 2016 alum Dr. Fawn Cothran on her move to California!
Fawn Cothran, PhD, RN, joined the faculty in May 2018 in the Family Caregiving Institute at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at University of California, Davis, as a tenure-track Assistant Professor. She works to advance the vision of the Family Caregiving Institute to support health and well-being for persons with chronic and serious illnesses as well as their family caregivers, with an emphasis on older adults.
Prior to her appointment at UC-Davis, Dr. Cothran was an assistant professor at Rush University College of Nursing in Chicago in the Department of Adult Health and Gerontological Nursing.
Dr. Cothran shared, “I am grateful for a unique opportunity to continue the work I am most passionate about with African American dementia family caregivers, and excited about contributing to a transformative culture shift, which emphasizes the role of the family in health care delivery.”
